Well, not eggs, but furniture.
I was out desk shopping with Jeff, who is in need of a new desk. We talked a little bit about my desk, which I got a couple years ago (okay more like 3 years ago) from The Terance Conran Store. It cost a lot of money. I knew that at the time. I love my desk, but I paid more than I should have. But whatever, that's not my point. My point is that the desk costs even more now.
Going up another couple hundred is one thing...but, this baby now costs $600 more today than it did three years ago. That's insane. I kind of bit the bullet and made the decision to go with the desk at the time. But I wouldn't have gotten it at today's price.
Is this inflation? Is this a result of increased production cost? What is going on here? It could be sort of designy-collector's-piece type of thing going on here, but I sort of doubt that. Who knows.
Maybe I should sell my desk. I could sell it at a discount to today's price and get a nice little profit off it. Then I could use a fraction of the money to get another (much cheaper) desk.
I do like my desk though.
